Join Team Lighthouse
Be a part of creating these places, gatherings and experiences that make the Lighthouse what it is.
Studio & Experience Coordinator
Part-time | Carmel-by-the-Sea
20–25 hours/month to start | $25–30/hour
The Lighthouse is a boutique wellness studio and retreat destination in Carmel-by-the-Sea. We create thoughtfully designed experiences that help people slow down, reconnect and feel more like themselves, from wellness classes and kids camps to private retreats, celebrations, corporate gatherings and experiences at beautiful locations throughout the Monterey Peninsula.
We’re looking for a Studio + Experience Coordinator to help produce retreats, wellness experiences, events and gatherings and care for the details that make them feel effortless for the people attending.
This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role at the intersection of wellness, hospitality and events. You’ll work directly with the founder to help bring experiences to life, prepare welcoming spaces and make sure the studio and our off-site experiences are beautifully organized and ready for guests.
What you’ll do
Studio Care + Readiness
Help keep The Lighthouse welcoming, organized, stocked and ready for what’s next. This includes light cleaning and resetting between experiences, caring for mats and props, laundry, monitoring inventory, restocking essentials and preparing for upcoming events. You’ll also help with occasional local errands, ordering and pickups for studio and event needs.
Experience Setup + Breakdown
Help prepare retreats, classes, kids programs, private gatherings and events based on established plans and creative direction. You’ll also help set up and arrange the space based on the vision and design for each experience, including tables, chairs, mats, materials, décor, food and beverage stations and other details that help the space feel thoughtful and welcoming. Afterward, you’ll help break down, reset the space, replenish used materials and return everything to its place.
Off-Site Experience Support
Help prepare and transport materials and equipment for Lighthouse experiences at vineyards, hotels, conference spaces and other local venues. Depending on the event, this may include packing, loading and unloading, setup, breakdown, cleanup and returning equipment to the studio.
Light Content + Marketing Support
When appropriate, quietly capture photos and short video clips during experiences while respecting guest privacy. There may also be opportunities to help organize content and support simple event-related marketing needs.
You might be a great fit if you...
Love creating beautiful, welcoming spaces and thoughtful experiences for others
Are welcoming, grounded, dependable and naturally attentive to detail
Enjoy a mix of creative, organizational and hands-on work
Take initiative and enjoy taking ownership once the vision and direction are clear
Are comfortable moving tables and chairs, carrying supplies, cleaning mats and handling the physical parts of event setup and breakdown
Have an interest in wellness, hospitality, events, retreats or experiential work
Have a good eye and are comfortable capturing simple photo and video content on a phone
Are local to the Monterey Peninsula and comfortable with a schedule that varies based on events
Schedule + growth
This is a part-time hourly role averaging approximately 20–25 hours per month to start. The rhythm will vary. Some weeks may only require a few hours while busy retreat and event weeks may require more.
Some work can be scheduled flexibly while event setup, turnovers and off-site support will occasionally require specific daytime, evening or weekend availability aligned to events and retreats.
As The Lighthouse’s retreats, private experiences and events continue to grow, this role has the opportunity to grow with them. Over time, there may be opportunities for additional hours and greater ownership of on-site experience coordination, retreat and event logistics, practitioner and partner support and the flow of larger gatherings and off-site experiences.
Why this role is different
You’ll be joining a small, growing business and working directly with the founder to see how wellness experiences are created from idea through execution.
It’s an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in retreat production, hospitality, events, wellness programming and experience design while working alongside practitioners, partners and guests throughout the area.
Some days are creative. Some are logistical. Some are physical. All of them contribute to creating experiences where people feel genuinely cared for.
